Empower Panchayat and SIIC, IIT Kanpur Join Forces to Transform Rural Governance.

Empower Panchayat, a project of the Vaktavya Foundation, is thrilled to announce a strategic partnership with the Foundation for Innovation & Research in Science & Technology (FIRST) at IIT Kanpur. This collaboration is established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on July 11, 2024.

The partnership aims to leverage the strengths and expertise of both organizations to enhance rural development in India. The primary focus areas include sustainable agriculture, education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

Key aspects of the collaboration are:

• Collaborative Research and Projects: Joint research initiatives to address rural development challenges.
• Student Involvement: Facilitating field projects and internships for students in rural panchayats.
• Workshops and Training: Organizing sessions on financial management, digital literacy, and governance for panchayat members.
• Innovation and Startups: Supporting startups in addressing rural community problems through joint hackathons and pilot projects.
