Empower Panchayat and Vikas Bharti Join Hands for Rural Development in Jharkhand

Empower Panchayat is delighted to announce a new partnership with Vikas Bharti Bishunpur, Jharkhand. This collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on June 23, 2024. This partnership aims to enhance rural governance and development in Jharkhand through a variety of innovative approaches and initiatives.

About Our Partners: Vikas Bharti is a renowned NGO dedicated to transforming lives and tribal communities in Jharkhand since 1983. They work closely with gram sabhas to promote cultural pride, nature protection, and livelihood generation. Empower Panchayat, a project of Vaktavya Foundation, focuses on empowering rural governance through Artificial Intelligence and Digital Public Infrastructure.

Key Initiatives:

  • Geographic Focus: We will work on all villages and panchayats in Garu Block of Latehar District and Bishunpur Block of Gumla District, Jharkhand.
  • Competence Building: Enhancing skills in project management, public procurement, meeting management, and benefit management to ensure sustainable and long-term development.
  • Institutional Strengthening: Establishing eight standing committees within panchayats to ensure regular and effective governance.
  • Financial Independence: Promoting the formation and strengthening of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to boost village GDP and create sustainable revenue streams.

Our Commitment: This MoU is effective from July 1, 2024, for a period of three years, with a potential extension through mutual agreement. Both parties are committed to maintaining confidentiality and resolving any disputes amicably. Through this partnership, we aim to bring about significant positive changes in rural governance and development in Jharkhand.
